Founded in 1963, AMCO has started as a General Trading and Contracting Company, with the primary activity of importing and distributing lubricants in the region.
Over the years, AMCO has developed powerful brand recognition and its lubricant products portfolio has gained importance and developed into the company’s main business interest. In the 1970s, the breakthrough came and success in this area resulted in the decision to specialize in lubricants. Five years from that significant date, AMCO was established. A relationship with a Dutch-based lubricant blending company enabled the marketing of its own brand of lubricant products. Successful business development in the 1980s resulted in AMCO purchasing a major shareholding in the Dutch plant and AMCO’s manufacturing base was consolidated.
AMCO’s next big leap came with the opening of Jebel Ali Free Zone. It took the opportunity and constructed a new state-of-the-art LOBP in 1986. This innovation has made it possible to implement a global strategy based in the UAE for the production, research and marketing of AMCO products meeting world standards and specifications. Therefore, AMCO’s success owes much to its brand-loyal customers.
